This Friday marked the time of the summer holidays for primary and nursery students, and goodbyes for CM2 students. To "congratulate them on their imminent entry into college", the City has decided to offer them a copy of Around the World in 80 Days, by Jules Verne.

"This book depicts the great adventure of human progress, faith in science and technical development, and curiosity for other cultures and civilizations , said the mayor of Montpellier, at the time of handing over the work to the 30 CM2 students of the Chengdu school, in the Port-Marianne district. It’it’knowledge is the foundation of our common humanity and helps us live better together."
