A new restaurant, La table à Nino, from Monday in Frontignan

Le lundi 6 mai, La table à Nino ouvre ses portes à côté du bar-tabac La colombe à Frontignan.

He had promised it when he took over, last November, the bar-tabac La Colombe in Frontignan. After a few delays inherent to the renovation project, Pascal Scaramozzino is bringing La table à Nino, a new restaurant attached to his establishment, to the baptismal font this Monday, May 6. A return to the future since elders will remember that this room has long hosted a catering area.

Traditional cuisine and unusual dishes

"I gave him this name in homage to my father who died a year ago", says the owner as he scans the interior of this new restaurant with around forty place settings, decorated with wood and enhanced with the iron work of local craftsman Ahmed Sehlaoui. "It will be traditional, Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. Also with different proposals every day depending on arrivals", confides Gaëtan, who moved from the bar side to the kitchen, his favorite field. "In any case, the dishes will be made from fresh produce because I don’t even have a freezer, he says with a smile. And I don't prohibit myself depending on the seasons from making dishes that you can't find elsewhere in the restaurant like pot-au-feu.

Two jobs created

Dishes – whole formula at 19.90 €, daily special at 12.90 € – which will be served to customers only at lunchtime from Monday to Saturday. It's Clémence, who will be in charge with her boss father. "We are also looking for an apprentice", confides Pascal Scaramozzino who has hired two new people to compensate for departures from the bar-tobacco side. "There are eight of us now", he said.

Different vocation in the evening

However, the new establishment will not close its doors once the last plate has been cleared. Indeed, the place is intended to host event evenings with the broadcast of matches, but also karaoke evenings, private events (the Frontignan jousting society has just held its general meeting there) or even special moments like “girls” evenings
