A new series of exploratory walks for residents

A la demande de François Clurdil, adjoint délégué à la politique de la ville et aux centres sociaux, la mairie de Nîmes relance les marches exploratoires des femmes, dans les quartiers est de la ville.

Officiellement, "exploratory walks are walks reserved for residents of the same neighborhood to analyze the feeling of insecurity felt as a woman in public space, to collectively imagine solutions to improve er the eur daily. They are followed by public mediation, in the presence of elected officials."

This concept originated in Canada, and was notably transplanted in 2022 to Nîmes as part of urban renovation projects. Before each launch of this large-scale operation in the eastern and western districts (Pissevin-Valdegour), women were invited to participate in this citizen operation and to give their feelings via observation sheets, base maps, safety evaluation scales…

Chemin-Bas d'Avignon and Clos d'Orville: meet on Wednesday May 22 for a stroll through the streets of Chemin -Lower Avignon and Clos d'Orville. The starting signal will be given at 10 a.m. in front of the André-Malraux socio-cultural center, avenue de Lattre-de-Tassigny.

Mas de Mingue. Thursday May 23, time for a stroll at Mas de Mingue. The starting signal will be given at 10 a.m. in front of the Jean-Paulhan socio-cultural and sports center, avenue Monseigneur-Calverie.

These walks are open to all women, without prior registration . The objective ? "With the steps, we discover, we recover, we overcome our fears and we create solidarity."
