This Tuesday evening, on the square in front of the arenas, the poster for Feria 2024 was unveiled: it is a drawing signed Romanin, that is to say Jean Moulin, who in fact produced 13 drawings on bullfighting that he had learned to love. The starting point of the "Feria off", like a foretaste of bullfights and aperitifs over two days in Béziers.

"There are 13 drawings by Jean Moulin on bullfighting. It was important, judicious, to emphasize that the one who embodied resistance, who refused to bend to the order of the world, was a fan of bullfighting."It was with these words that Robert Ménard, mayor of Béziers, commented on the poster for Feria 2024, which had just been displayed in large format on the surrounding wall of the Béziers arenas, this Tuesday, May 7 in the evening. We see bullfighters there as well as well-dressed people. all ready to enter the arena. "Jean Moulin loved and drew bullfighting. This poster is a fine example of the way in which he praised this art criticized by some and defended here", continued the first magistrate.

"We're going to do everything to beat this record"

For his part, Olivier Margé, director of the arenas, was able to present the cartels in detail and look ahead to the Feria 2024 : "En 2023, there were 1 million people in 4 days, 55,000 people welcomed to the arenas, we will do everything to beat this record."

We already know that beyond the bullfights, the key events are maintained: the opening rugby match on August 13, the mass at the arenas on August 14, the festival flamenco… "La Feria is designed to bring everyone together, and for everyone to benefit from it. We try to have great events. We are proud in Béziers of our bullfighting, of our Feria", Olivier Margé said again on the microphone. The starting point for two days of celebrations, during what we now call the "Feria off". Like a taste of bulls and aperitifs.

The wines of the Feria 2024 were also released. revealed this Tuesday evening. Selected by a jury chaired by by chef Gilles Goujon, they will be offered with the Feria label. Rosé winner: Feet in the water, Alma Cersius cellar (Cers), represents by Robert Marc. White: Colombette (Béziers), an organic wine made from a resistant grape variety, representing by Vincent Pugibet. Red: The song of the cicadas, Deshenry’s estate (Alignan-du-Vent), represents by Nicolas Bouchard.
