A woman raped her children “at least every week to calm them down”: mother sentenced

Ce jeudi 18 janvier 2024, une femme a été condamnée à 5 ans de prison par le tribunal correctionnel de Valenciennes pour plusieurs viols sur ses deux bébés.

In this case, the acts were allegedly committed between 2017 and 2022, in two municipalities in the North: Beuvrages and Anzin. This Thursday, January 18, the Valenciennes criminal court ruled and sentenced a mother to 5 years in prison for multiple rapes of her two children, reports Le Parisien.

Rapes every week

The father was also implicated in this affair, but the latter committed suicide in 2022. The mother of the children, now aged 6 and 8 years old, was therefore alone before the courts.

The latter therefore explains that the rapes would have taken place "at least every week", and this, "to calm them down". The mother adds that the family lived in a "climate of violence", underlines La Voix du Nord . "My husband forced me to touch him, otherwise he would hit me", she declared in court. But the investigations showed that the facts continued after the couple broke up. Note that when the events began, the eldest was only two and a half months old.

If the mother admitted the facts, the babies have grown up and remain deeply marked. "Inappropriate behavior with sexual connotations with little girls" is noticed in the eldest, underlined a specialist . The woman accused also explained that she herself had suffered numerous physical and sexual violence from the deceased father.

If his lawyer indicated "deficiencies at all levels" and a &amp ;quot;IQ below average", the court delivered its final verdict this Thursday. The latter was sentenced to 5 years in prison, but with deferred incarceration in order to undergo surgery. The mother will also have to undergo socio-judicial monitoring for 10 years and obviously, her parental authority has been withdrawn.
