A young man is dead: a motorist has his luxury watch stolen, he takes revenge and hits his attackers with his car

After snatching his watch, an individual deliberately hit two men on a scooter on the evening of Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône).

The events took place in the 2nd arrondissement of the Phocaean city, not far from the Old Port, reports France 3 Paca.

It is 11pm when two young men aged 16 and 20, on a scooter, decide to snatch the luxury watch from the wrist of a motorist, as evidenced by the images taken by the video surveillance cameras.

The man then set off in pursuit of his attackers in a car in the streets of Marseille. The driver hit the two-wheeler, causing the two teenagers to fall to the ground.

After retrieving his precious accessory, the driver fled the scene.

One of the teenagers died

The youngest passenger on the two-wheeler did not survive the impact. He died of his injuries on the spot. The second, in serious condition, was immediately taken care of by firefighters who transported him to hospital with a life-threatening prognosis.

Two people linked to the investigation were arrested later in the night, in the northern districts near a burnt-out vehicle, according to AFP. They are believed to be the driver and his passenger, according to information from Parisien.

An investigation has been opened and entrusted to the Territorial Crime Division (DCT).
