MP Carrière does not stir up trouble

Sylvain Carrière visited a landowner's land in the Gardiole massif about ten days ago. The NFP MP was able to “observe the difference in the impact of fire between cleared land and land without maintenance”. He recalled that “in this area with a high risk of fire, we must protect ourselves as much as possible from the risks while respecting nature as much as possible”. And underlined the usefulness of the Legal Obligations of Clearing “sometimes restrictive but which allow us to save nature and our habitats”, admitting that they had to“be rethought and more in line with the reality of our territories”. In this sense, it will not have taught much to those involved in fire prevention.

Strike at Keolis: walkouts with no impact on the Thau basin

As the fourth week of strike action begins this Monday at Kéolis Méditerranée, the consequences of the daily morning walkouts (from 7:20 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.) are almost zero for the inhabitants of the Thau basin. Only a few school lines serving the commune of Marseillan are experiencing disruptions. The social movement is having a greater impact in the west of the department. School lines serving the establishments of Agde, Pézenas, Bessan and Florensac are disrupted for the 8 a.m. return to school while a handful of Hérault transport lines are cancelled every day departing from or arriving in Béziers.

A forgotten promise from Kléber Mesquida ?

The president of the Hérault department, Kléber Mesquida, therefore stopped this week at the Frontignan Muscat cooperative cellar as part of his traditional tour of these establishments at the end of the grape harvest. While the big fire of the summer and its repercussions greatly animated the discussions, there is one – small – element that has clearly been overlooked. Indeed, last year during the same visit, he had responded favorably to a suggestion by Christophe Miron, now former president of the winery, to mark viticulture in Frontignan by placing a symbolic work in the center of the Barnier roundabout. This subject was not even mentioned this week. An oversight ? An abandonment of the project ?
