After Géant Casino, the Nîmes Cap Costières shopping center is preparing to welcome Auchan

Auchan s’apprête à s’implanter pour la première fois dans le Gard et ce sera à Cap Costières.

Friday May 31, at 5:30 p.m., a page in the history of the Cap Costières shopping center was turned with the official departure of the group Casino, in financial difficulty, which took the form of the closure of the supermarket before an inventory. Instead, it is the Auchan brand which arrives as part of the national takeover of 26 hypermarkets and 70 Casino supermarkets.

After a first wave on May 2, the second this time concerns "nine hypermarkets and 25 supermarkets" according to the direction of Auchan, including the Cap Costières supermarket. "Ahead of the openings, the stores will be closed for a fortnight, the time to put in place tools, processes and codes of the brand", announces t -on within the group.

Work undertaken

This Monday, June 3, the work began well at the Place de Casino with a white tarpaulin along the entrances and checkouts and in the background noise of the workers who started the new physiognomy of commerce. If the director and the 150 employees are taken over, Auchan management indicates that each team “will be supported by a sponsor store, around twenty experts of the network of stores who came to bring their know-how.

The shops in the shopping mall remain open during the work which precedes the arrival of Auchan. Y.B.

As for the management of the Cap Costières shopping arcade, this arrival of Auchan is viewed favorably: "Casino had reached the end of its run in recent weeks. A change of brand is always good because it ensures turnover. In addition, it is the first establishment in the Gard of Auchan, which will arouse the curiosity of customers. Auchan has a good image, better price placement than Casino", indicates Laura Biolé, director of Cap Costières.

Location in the South

With this arrival of Auchan in Cap Costières but also in Redessan, the group's management evokes its desire to conquer the South where it had little presence. It also communicates its desire to deploy "committed policies in favor of the agricultural world by forging new partnerships with local producers and offering new outlets to those registered in its responsible sectors.& ;quot;

The latter also reminds that all the shops in the shopping mall are open during the work which precedes the opening of the Auchan hypermarket set for the moment on Wednesday 12& nbsp;June "for a new racing experience", the group's management has already announced.
