Charles-Henri Alloncle.

They had until 6 p.m. this Tuesday, July 2 to submit their application to the prefecture. This is done for ten candidates in the running in the five constituencies which touch the territory of Montpellier. Age, profession, political commitment… discover the profile of each of these men and women who are vying for the seat of deputy in the National Assembly. This is the last straight line to convince voters before this second round on Sunday July 7. With RN-NFP duels in all constituencies, it will be easier to decide.

1st constituency

Josyan Oliva (LR/RN).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Josyan Oliva. Midi Libre – GIACOMO ITALIANO

For his first election as head of the list, Josyan Oliva finished, in the first round, at the top of a constituency where the RN had not been able to do better than third in the last legislative elections. The thirty-year-old, anchored in Lattes, is not, however, a newcomer to politics. He himself describes this candidacy as “the culmination of ten years of activism on the right”. Understand at Les Républicains, until 2024.

The father of the family, business manager and lawyer by training, was an activist, present on municipal lists and even campaign director. In 2023, he created Agir pour Lattes, positioning himself as an opponent of Mayor Cyril Meunier. But before a possible municipal adventure, it is with the support of Éric Ciotti and the RN that he hopes to become a deputy.

Jean-Louis Roumégas (NFP).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Jean-Louis Roumégas. Midi Libre – Michael Esdourrubailh

An environmental activist from the start, Jean-Louis Roumégas is part of the Montpellier political landscape. He began his political career by running for municipal elections in Montpellier in 2001. He formed an alliance with the Frêche list in the 2nd round and became 2nd deputy. In 2008, he joined the municipal opposition and became national spokesperson for the Greens. He led the Europe-Ecology list with the Greens to the Regionals in 2010 but that of Frêche won.

Elected deputy for the 1st constituency in 2012 against Christian Jeanjean, he was beaten by Patricia Mirallès in 2017. He is running for municipal elections in Montpellier in 2020. Born in Algiers in 1962, father of two children, Jean-Louis Roumégas is responsible for the National Education Prevention-Health Resource Center.

3rd constituency

Fanny Dombre-Coste (NFP).

Fanny Dombre-Coste. Midi Libre – JEAN-MICHEL MART

Fanny Dombre-Coste, 67, is a heavyweight in the local Socialist Party. This former photographer was in fact elected in 2001, under the leadership of a certain Georges Frêche, then Hélène Mandroux. Councilor, municipal, metropolitan and, for a time, regional, she is in all the battles. To the point of being elected deputy for this 3rd constituency from 2012 to 2017, debunking Jean-Pierre Grand.

Since 2020, she has been an essential link in Michaël Delafosse's team, who made her his first assistant, in charge of education. This constituency being strategic, it is once again that the mayor of Montpellier came to seek to block the RN for these legislative elections… and try to limit the ardor of LFI for 2026.

Lauriane Troise (RN).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Lauriane Troise (left).

Psychologist, aged 44, married, two children, living in Crès for sixteen years, Lauriane Troise joined the National Front ten years ago. "I became interested in politics when my first daughter was born, for her future. I had (and still have) a lot of concerns about his future, about questions of insecurity."

Hence her priorities if she seizes the seat of deputy on Sunday evening: "Firmness in justice and security, in particular when the victims are women. It's not normal to be afraid when my 15 year old daughter takes the tram." And the RN candidate also mentioned "immigration, which must be reduced, and illegal immigration, which must be stopped." Already present in the legislative elections in 2017 (read on page 3), Lauriane Troise has been serving on the regional council since 2021.

4th constituency

Manon Bouquin (RN).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Manon Bouquin.

Manon Bouquin appeared in the 4th constituency during the last legislative elections, without local roots. An activist in the RN since 2015, the 32-year-old young woman from Normandy had her first electoral experience during legislative elections in the 2nd constituency of Paris while she was studying at the Sorbonne before becoming parliamentary attaché to the MEP Héraultaise France Jamet.

She then became an assistant to RN deputy Aurélien Lopez-Liguori in the 7th constituency of Sète. Invested in 2022 in the 4th, Manon Bouquin presents herself as "the generation of recovery".  She was close to winning the bet, by 600 votes, in the 2nd round, against Sébastien Rome which she will return to on Sunday.

Sébastien Rome (NFP).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Sebastian Rome. Midi Libre – JEAN MICHEL MART

Having long been involved in the left, Sébastien Rome from Lodévois discovered politics alongside the socialist mayor Marie-Christine Bousquet, for whom he was deputy for Urban Policy. The 46-year-old school principal then ran in the 2020 municipal elections with a citizen list, before running for the Departmental elections the following year under the label of the Republican and Socialist Left.

In 2022, Sébastien Rome joined LFI and Nupes and became a member of parliament. Health, education, housing, pensions, defense of public services… We find the hyperactive and incisive parliamentarian in all the battles in his constituency and in the assembly “to make the voice of France heard from the sub-prefectures”.

8th constituency

Cédric Delapierre (RN ).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Cedric Delapierre. Midi Libre – JEAN-MICHEL MART

Cédric Delapierre is 48 years old. He is a regional opposition councilor and also a member of the opposition in Sète. He cut his teeth in the RPR and gradually rose through the ranks of the party until becoming secretary general of Les Républicains Occitanie. In 2021, he moved to the National Rally by joining the list for the Regionals carried by Jean-Paul Garraud, also a defector from the party.

Cédric Delapierre ran for the Departmental elections in the canton of Mèze the same year. He loses by a large margin (70/30). In 2022, he launches into the legislative battle for the 8th constituency (Frontignan-Montpellier). In the second round, he capitalized 5,000 votes ahead of Sylvain Carrière. The Montpellier offices tipped the scales and he lost by 458 votes.

Sylvain Carrière (NFP).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Sylvain Carrière. Midi Libre – SYLVIE CAMBON

The life of Sylvain Carrière accelerated on the evening of June 19, 2022. Elected deputy for his first participation in a vote, the young Vicois, then a salesman in a pet store, discovered the Palais Bourbon at the age of 31. But his political commitment goes back further. In 2012, with BTS in hand, he joined the Left Front for Mélenchon's first presidential election. "A deep commitment. When there was a battle to fight, he was there. All the time!", recalls René Revol, mayor of Grabels.

Calm and measured but solid on his left-wing values, Sylvain Carrière pushed a lot of local issues: viticulture, transport, shellfish farming, beekeeping… while continuing to plow his constituency. Two years later, he found the man he had beaten at the last minute.

9th constituency

Charles-Henri Alloncle (LR-RN).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Charles-Henri Alloncle.

At 30, Charles-Henri Alloncle had traveled a large part of France as his civil servant father travelled. Born in Nancy, he only stayed there for a few months before settling in Paris for his studies at Sciences Po and HEC. It was during these same years that he began his career as an activist within the UMP and took on the presidency of the associations Les Jeunes with Nicolas Sarkozy and the vice-presidency of the Young Republicans.

Charles-Henri Alloncle had known the 9th constituency since his childhood, having spent his holidays there in La Grande-Motte. He also often went to Mauguio to visit relatives. Sunday 30 June was his first time voting. The LR-RN candidate came out on top with 36.43% of the vote. On July 7, he will face Nadia Belaouni (LFI) for this 2nd legislative round.

Nadia Belaouni (LFI).

Age, profile, career: who are your candidates for the legislative elections in Montpellier and the surrounding constituencies ?

Nadia Belaouni.

Born in Casablanca 46 years ago, Nadia Belaouni arrived in Montpellier to study business and sales engineering. Her first step in politics was taken when she entered the job market. An activist and trade unionist (CGT), she joined the Popular Union and LFI movement in the early days. In 2020, Nadia Belaouni was elected in the opposition (SE) to the town hall of Aimargues.

Today general manager of a craft company in construction, this mother of two children, very involved as parents of students and in the defense of the environment, presented herself for the first time in the legislative elections in 2022. She lost in the second round (45.63%) against Patrick Vignal. Sunday June 30, she came in 2nd position (29.27%) against LR-RN Charles-Henri Alloncle (36.43%), her opponent in the 2nd round.
