Agricultural Show: the Lozère stand inaugurated this Tuesday in the presence of personalities

Le travail des producteurs et éleveurs lozériens a été salué lors des prises de parole.

After the inauguration of the Hérault stand in the morning, where Sophie Pantel and Robert Aigoin visited as neighbors, it was the turn of Lozère to experience its official moment, Tuesday February 27, 2024 afternoon, Porte de Versailles, at the Salon de l’agriculture.

An inauguration experienced with a large audience and in the presence of numerous personalities including the Minister of Veterans and Memory, Patricia Mirallès, the honorary prefect Christine Wils-Morel, but also presidents of Departments (Gard , Aude, Hérault, Corrèze…) and Lozériens from Paris.

"Working and making a living from their profession"

Sophie Pantel first thanked and greeted the producers and breeders present, and recalled the prices already gleaned after four days of the show. Then she recalled that agriculture, after the war, had been ordered to feed the French before suffering various crises and very recently an intolerable "agribashing" . "Farmers are, however, the first ecologists in our territories, she clarified. We are going through a crisis, it’s the time to talk to each other and build perspectives together. Our farmers only ask for one thing: to work and live with dignity from their profession." The president pleaded for adapted and territorialized policies.

The president of the Chamber of Agriculture Christine Valentin spoke of the show as an unmissable event which allows "to confront others ;others and enrich themselves from the exchange". She continued: "It also allows us to show what Lozère agriculture, small, has in terms of good and beautiful results& quot;. She returned to the numerous government announcements in recent days: farm cash flow, Egalim law, exports… And targeted two objectives: the settlement of young people and food sovereignty.

The minister, for her part, hoped, to combine memory and agriculture, that the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation be followed by fraternal meals with good local products. She also promised to come to Lozère soon.

The day continued with a series of meetings, notably with the Ministers of Territories, Dominique Faure, and of Agriculture, Marc Fesneau, on the occasion of the visit of Gabriel Attal, the Prime Minister, to the Occitanie space.
