Alem, beatbox maestro, delivers his art to the Collège des Deux Pins

Le mini-concert dans l’enceinte du collège a enthousiasmé les élèves ce vendredi.

Des élèves de Frontignan ont été initiés au beatbox. Un concert est prévu ce soir.

Friday March 29, students from the Deux Pins college in Frontignan enjoyed a mini beatbox concert performed by Alem, world champion in his category. For ten years, the young man has collaborated regularly with the Conservatory of Intercommunal Radiation (CRI) of Frontignan at the invitation of its deputy director Georges Di Isernia. This year, Alem introduced his art to the students.

Since Thursday, he has been teaching beatbox to a group made up of all class levels and whose students have a predisposition for this type of exercise. Launched by music teacher Joël Larguier, the "Deux Pins Beatbox" aims to present the beatbox aesthetic, to introduce it to middle school students over two days of training and to present the work carried out on the stage of the auditorium of the Sète conservatory, all accompanied by a conservatory orchestra.

"He is a complete musician, a performer, a hard worker"

"On the advice of Georges Di Isernia, I asked Alem, beatbox world champion, explains the teacher. He is a complete musician, a performer, a hard worker always looking for new sounds." But what is beatboxing: it is the art of imitating percussion, music and sounds with your mouth. The "human beat box", that is to say human drum machine, appeared a few years after the birth of hip-hop in the late 1970s.

As a fine teacher, Alem led introductory courses with middle school students, teaching them to create sounds, to make them in rhythm, to restore them this Saturday, March 30, solo and with the middle school students during the concert finalizing the project. His great artistic and educational talent was put to the service of middle school students during the three days. "This event would not have been possible without the support of principal Catherine Jougla and her deputy Lionel Garcera, recalls Joël Larguier. And this values the work of the students and the college. With Martine Morez, cultural referent of the college, we are happy to have brought it to fruition. We dedicate this event to Jean-Raphael Desvérité, a college music teacher who died suddenly last month. " The Deux Pins college is rich in its teaching team and its 700 students, some of whom now know beatbox.

Beatbox Alem concert, the middle school students and the Orchestrated Collective, Saturday March 30 at 5 p.m., at the Maurice-Ravel auditorium, at the CRI quai des Moulins in Sète. Free. Reservation required my.weezevent.com/2-pins-beatbox Information: 04 99 04 76 35.
