Carl Vuillecard.

Carl Vuillecard (3rd row/RC Méditerranée)

Arriving in Palavas two seasons ago, with experience as a professional rugby player, Carl Vuillecard quickly made his place in the RC Méditerranée squad.
“I learned my trade in Tarbes, always having in the back of my mind the idea of being a professional rugby player”, explains the 27-year-old third row. When he left the Hautes-Pyrénées to settle in Hérault, in Béziers, Carl was determined and managed, in addition to the Espoirs matches, to stand out from the crowd to play professionally with ASBH.
“I was able to sign a professional contract in Béziers but between injuries and Covid… With the instability, I asked myself the question of changing to join another club to find pleasure again", continues Vuillecard.

A foot injury handicapped him at the start of last season, but he then played 12 matches on his return, scoring 4 tries, until the round of 16 first leg and second leg against Argelès-sur-Mer. “I had the confidence of the coaches who lined me up each time, praises the flanker. I try to be a game leader and give advice to the younger ones. Unfortunately, despite our great regular season, we were unable to achieve the goal of moving up to the next level."
A goal that the Palavasiens will pursue in this new season of Fédérale 2.

Vincent Barrière.

Vincent Barrière (2nd line/Agde)

It's time to hang up your boots, at 36 years old. For Vincent Barrière, a warrior from Agde, the last three seasons, the battles on the pitches of Fédérale 1 were the last, this spring.

This versatile second/third row has almost 100 professional matches between Bourgoin and Valence/Romans and decided to join the ROA, three years ago, for a last hurrah.
A title of French champion of Fédérale 2 during his first season in Agde for the guy who is a little more disappointed with the 2023-2024 season.

“A little regret for not having been able to qualify, we had the group and the quality for it, with in particular an invincibility at home“, explains Barrière. It must be said that “the group had hardly moved since the title.”
This summer, several experienced players stopped after a final season in Fédérale 1.

“I was named captain last season but I am not a captain of words, rather of gestures, on the field”, confesses the one who was only able to play 6 matches and was operated on twice during the season.
“Because of my age, I have tried to pass on to the younger ones”, Vincent Barrière humbly concludes.

Pierre Cabrol.

Pierre Cabrol (Flying Half/Servian-Boujan)

Like his ROA colleague, Pierre Cabrol has said stop! At least for the federal level. When school starts again, he will be able to drag his frame and make his support speak on the pitch of Lieuran XV (Regional 3), alongside Christophe Flamant and Benjamin Saumade, former glories of Servian-Boujan Rugby.

At 33, Pierre Cabrol was still the master of the game at Stade Labatut. “I was one of the oldest. I play in a position where you have to take responsibility”, he explains.

An impressive regular season punctuated by 17 wins, one loss and a first place at the national level: the SBR held its own. “Following our relegation from Fédérale 2, we wanted to do well this season, with a strong group to move up quickly”, explains the fly-half who played 22 matches last season.

Two defeats in the first leg matches in the 32nd and 16th rounds did not cause the Serviano-Boujanais to doubt, who passed these two rounds, validating their promotion to Fédérale 2. An exemplary journey that led the club from the Béziers suburbs to the final against Saverdun.

After a 100-minute fight, the shield finally escaped Cabrol, who would have liked to end his story of more than twenty years at the club with a French champion title.
