The director of the Tricastin nuclear power plant, Cedrick Hausseguy presented his wishes on Friday January 26, 2024 to the local authorities, elected officials, state representatives, economic players and driving forces. EDF is recruiting permanent employees and work-study workers.

On Friday January 26, 2024, the director of the Tricastin nuclear power plant in Drôme, Cedrick Hausseguy presented his wishes to local authorities, elected officials, state representatives, economic players and driving forces. In 2023, the EDF company thus returned to good levels of electricity production with a fully restored operating capacity towards neighboring countries, which makes it possible to secure the winter period.

"Energy independence"

"The nuclear fleet is there and our 4 reactors contribute greatly" declared the site boss Drôme. "Our fellow citizens have also largely regained awareness of the benefits of nuclear electricity production" he rejoiced. "The trump card" nuclear power "allows us to preserve the energy independence of our country as well as to combat Co2 emissions, which bodes well for the development of the French nuclear industry.& ;quot; The Tricastin industrial program continues. EDF invested 1.6 billion € over the period 2018-2028 to carry out its so-called major fairing program.

Reliability of installations

Cédrick Hausseguy says it again: "Our innovations continue to strengthen the reliability and durability of our installations, and we have established solid partnerships with the territory in particular in order to promote careers in the nuclear sector and attract young people to our industrial jobs".

Recruitment campaign

In 2023, EDF recruited 63 employees on permanent contracts and integrated 54 work-study students during the start of the school year last September. We therefore have 87 permanent work-study students at the center, including students from the Albert Einstein high school in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. This recruitment campaign should continue at this high level over the coming years with, in 2024, hiring at the same level as those made in 2023. In three years EDF has thus recruited on permanent contracts, more than 200 people, i.e. the size of an SME! The year 2024 promises to be a year full of challenges, notably the last ten-year inspection for reactor number 4 which has just started for a period of 6 months.
