Défilé nocturne, pneus, lisier et petit-lait déversés en divers lieux de la ville de Mende, ce vendredi 26 janvier 2024.

Neither Gabriel Attal's announcements nor listening to the prefect of Lozère convinced the farmers to return home at the end of the day. 

The demonstration led by Rural Coordination, this Friday January 26, 2024 in Mende, continued into the evening. The tractors rallied the Chamber of Agriculture and the MSA. to dump various waste, agricultural plastics and other tires.

"The smell of the countryside"

Everyone then met around 9 p.m. in front of the DDT (departmental management of Territories, avenue de la Gare), the same where the prefect had received them a few hours earlier. Slurry was deposited in large quantities in front of the building, before the valves opened, sprinkling everything with whey. "It's to bring a little smell of the countryside", said a breeder.

At 10 p.m., the fire that had been lit at the start of the evening was used to grill sausages. The camp had not yet been broken.
