Nearly 200 elected officials and economic decision-makers attended the conference at BEA.

Widely discussed at the Davos forum (Switzerland), artificial intelligence (AI) worries world leaders and economic circles. "In the world, between 40 and 60% of jobs will be affected", estimates Kristalina Georgieva, director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

In order to address this sensitive subject, Gard Entreprises organized its economic return to the premises of BEA Informatique in Rieu, with as guest, the former Secretary of State for Digital Affairs Mounir Mahjoubi. Although he has since left the government, the entrepreneur has decided to settle in Saint-Ambroix where he is developing a large-scale project linked to integration and cooking.< /p>

Questions among decision-makers who will have to adapt

More than 200 people, mainly business leaders from Gard, responded to Jean-Pierre De Faria's invitation and were able to discover or deepen the possibilities offered by Chat GPT , an artificial intelligence that can be asked questions and conducted conversations.

"AI has entered our daily lives, notes Frédéric Muh, boss of BEA. Today, it’s under debate and it’s only the beginning. It offers new perspectives and new challenges."

Mounir Mahjoubi detailed the sectors of daily life which could be impacted by AI. "For 30 years, IT has only been used to store data and medical records. The medical act remains an art. But today, AI is involved in interpreting radios. For trauma emergencies, the emergency doctor does not control all traumas: joints, heart, lungs… Assistance with interpretation is equivalent to a recommendation for a first intervention which allows you to wait for the arrival of the specialist."

Sensitive sectors impacted by artificial intelligence

The question of ethics was raised. "Yes, AI listens, collects information. While storing a wrist x-ray is not very disruptive, having all of a patient's blood tests for 30 years is a problem. It will be necessary to know what data is collected, for what use, with what access."

Other issues include access and sharing of information as well as the risk of misinformation. Because war is also fought on intangible terrain. Here again, AI risks changing the situation: “We are witnessing the emergence of new war giants, particularly in the USA. In France, we did not want to create an autonomous weapon, but the doctrine is changing. Those who master this technology will be difficult to catch up with. We must prepare to protect peace and have the same level of weaponry as others. It’is a real subject for reflection."
