Claude et Mauricette vous accueillent tous les jours “aux pains de Jeannette” au Marché du Lez”

The Marché du Lez bakery is celebrating its first year of existence.

It will soon be a year since Aux Pains de Jeannette opened at the Marché du Lez, in place of the old Grasset bakery.

This is a family story. That of Claude and Mauricette Bos, son and daughter of a baker, who decided to pay homage to their parents, by taking over this bakery, as well as the choice of the name, Jeannette, like their mother, who celebrated her 90th birthday on June 9 last.

"Originally from Pérols, my father started as a baker in Pérols in the center of the village, replaced today by the municipal police station. When he met my mother, he left the baker's profession for a while to turn to construction, as a tiler, but being on the move all the time, they decided to return to the business and bought one in La Grande- Motte: a bakery-pastry shop which also did rotisserie and catering. But it was too seasonal. So, they left the station and settled in Milhaud, near Nîmes", says Claude.

L' Opening this business therefore echoes the story of his parents because Claude and Mauricette are not bakers. Indeed Aux Pains de Jeannette is a cooking terminal.

Before resuming this business, Claude was a floorer for scenography for 33 years and his sister worked in real estate.

The decoration chosen by the siblings also reflects this family history. That of a bakery atmosphere from his parents' time: lots of wood, especially the counters, with crockery and antique furniture, reminiscent of the atmosphere of an old-fashioned store to showcase the breads and pastries.

In addition to bread, massages!

After almost a year of existence, Claude and Mauricette have managed to build a regular and loyal clientele and, among them, Catherine Esmault, who has become a friend. Claude then had the original idea by giving her the opportunity to offer her massage services every weekend within the boutique.

Confirmed masseuse with her diplomas, Catherine suggests introducing Amma massages: relaxing and energizing, sitting on a kneeling chair.

These can bring a little extra to the bakery, especially since a formula is offered to accompany the massage.

Finally last service offered by the bakery: the baskets too good to go, made up of unsold items and sold at low prices.

Open every day, from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m..
