The Washington Post, relayed by the Belgian media 7sur7, assures that the American government had warned Russia of the exact location where the attack was to take place almost two weeks before the events. Vladimir Putin had indicated a few days before the attack that the Americans were warned that it was a "simple attempt to intimidate and destabilize Russian society". The head of the Russian foreign security service, Sergei Naryshkin, has assured him this Tuesday that "appropriate measures" had been taken.

A young man of 15, who worked at Crocus City Hall explained that indeed the staff had been warned of a potential risk of attack, that instructions in case problems have been given but also that security controls have been reinforced.

But a relaxation seems to have been noted after the warning. Is Russia focusing too much on the war in Ukraine ? Would Vladimir Putin have questioned information from the United States ? The attack in Moscow was claimed shortly time later by the Islamic State of Khorasan group.
