Just as feared as hoped for, the "Southern Derby" between the last two South Aveyron clubs competing for the semi-finals of the Aveyron Cup will wait. The draw for the semi-finals which took place on the evening of Tuesday March 5 in the Paul-Lignon stadium in Rodez gave its verdict: Saint-Georges-du -Luzençon will be opposed to the last title holder, namely Espalion. Aguessac will inherit Naucelle. Four D1 residents who know each other particularly well to play in the same group in the championship.
A particularly close championship. Currently in the soft underbelly of the ranking, thanks to a calendar truncated by the postponement of matches following climatic hazards, Saint-Georges can still claim the leadership position if he wins his four games behind…
In a pocket handkerchief in the championship, the last four competitors in the Aveyron Cup will therefore be keen to shine before the final which, depending on the results, could pit the two South Aveyron clubs against each other. Two favorites relatively confident, "but humble" as the semi-finals scheduled for the week approach -end of March 30 and 31 on neutral ground.
