Bagnols-sur-Cèze: for its 30th edition, the gathering of the old VW club migrates to Vaucluse

This year, the thirtieth edition of the old VW club gathering will take place in Jonquières (Vaucluse), at Parc des Peupliers, on July 5, 6 and 7. And not at Rimbaud Park as has been the case for ten years. "Every year, once the meeting has passed, we reserve for the following year. In 2023, we have reserved the second weekend of July. We were told, "we will have to wait until the beginning of the year for an answer". It turned out that it dragged on. We didn't get a response", regrets club president Marc Busnoult. As time passes, the president calls on the mayor of the town where he lives, Jonquières. One meeting later, the agreement was made. "We wanted to do it in Bagnols, but from Bagnols beach, it’s complicated", specifies the president. The club, created by Beetle enthusiasts, was born in 1992. Initially, the gathering took place in Vaucluse, Bollène and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A Bagnolais joins the club. This is how, over time, the meeting has become anchored in the setting of Rimbaud Park. Five years ago, the association's headquarters was transferred to Bagnols, to the Maison des associations. "Until now, things have always gone well with the town hall. Mr. Chapelet always made us feel welcome. Everything was in order, for electricity, waste, etc. We needed an answer, we looked elsewhere, we found it. " Requested, Wednesday, the office of the mayor of Bagnols indicated: "The initial request concerned July 6 and 7, thus entering into competition with the Bagnolaise Fiesta organized by the festival committee and the bullfighting event supported by the City. Also, the other dates proposed were not suitable. The town hall is delighted that a fallback solution has been found by the association and will make Rimbaud Park available again next year."< /p>

Plenty of games, competitions and Ladybugs!

Marc Busnoult obtained a response from the Vaucluse municipality at the beginning of the week. Club volunteers are in the starting blocks for authorization requests and to organize the deployment of the event in this new site.

For the 30th anniversary of the event, the president announces walks, box races, inflatable games for children, a reverse walking competition, a slow competition, and plenty games, food trucks, etc. Enthusiasts will come with their jewel, from Nice, Grenoble…
