Le 5e Intellectual Fight Club a donné lieu à cinq combats de chessboxing de haut niveau samedi 18 mai, au Dancing, à Sète.
A great atmosphere, nearly 400 people around the ring, alternating rounds of high-level boxing and chess: the 5th Intellectual Fight Club conquered Dancing this Saturday, May 18, in Sète.
The five chessboxing matches kept the room in suspense from 7 p.m. until almost midnight. Gabriel Lacouture, Tony Infantino, Marco Muccini, Jules-Alois Julien and Paul Duchet emerged victorious. By dominating Allamand Hasan Celik, the latter suddenly obtained the crown of world champion in Challenger -75 kg.
"The objective was for there to be a show and a dimension that was both educational and festive. It's successful", welcomes Guillaume Salençon, the president (from Sète) of the French Chessboxing Federation, convinced that the discipline " ;will become an important sport in the years to come, just like MMA".
