Une mère de 32 ans a été condamnée par le tribunal de Pau à six mois de prison ferme pour avoir frappé régulièrement son fils de quatre ans depuis le début d’année. Elle le privait également de nourriture.

Placed with a foster family

The host family into which the little boy had been taken in at the beginning of April had noticed the marks of blows on his body and had reported them. At her trial, the mother admitted the violence without explaining it. "My child didn't deserve this, I was overwhelmed, overwhelmed", she declared before adding: "He did stupid things, disrespected me."

She also explains that this four-year-old child already physically resembles his father, his violent former partner. According to the defense, she was forced into marriage. Her two children would not have been "desired", according to the words of her lawyer.

Deprived of food

His 7-year-old sister described the ordeal her brother was experiencing for several months: "Mom took him by the’ shoulder. And presto! She threw him away." The child was then deprived of food, until he weighed 13 kg. The mother allegedly forced her to attend the family dinner on several occasions without being able to eat. So he got up at night in secret to eat sandwiches, says France Bleu.

The Deputy Prosecutor of the Republic concluded: "A mother who must be sanctioned for her violent behavior towards a child of four years old who simply behaves like a child of that age." The sentence imposed can be adjusted in the form of an electronic bracelet. The convicted woman also has an obligation to care and work.
