Bulky items and green waste: this weekend is the big spring cleaning of the Agglo de Nîmes

Attention, it's this weekend! An unmissable event for bulky items and green waste in this busy season, the Great Spring Cleaning organized by Nîmes Métropole is back and will take place during the weekend of March 23 and 24.

On this occasion, don't forget to drop off your bulky items and green waste in the 10 local mini-recycling centers specially opened for the occasion. And always, the bonus: free distribution of compost on three sites!

« For Nîmes Métropole, this local operation allows us to strengthen the service to the user and also allows the people of Nîmes to facilitate both the sorting process but also the possibility of getting rid of their bulky items and plants, which will then be valued », recall Franck Proust, president of Nîmes Métropole, and Bernard Angelras, deputy vice-president for the environment, collection and treatment of waste. « An operation which has become an unmissable, highly anticipated event over the years and which we are repeating over two highly demanded seasons: spring and autumn.

This year, the mini-recycling centers will be open to the public on Saturday March 23 and Sunday March 24, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Not to be missed, a free distribution of compost will take place on 3 sites: Castanet, Route d’Alès and Carrière Rouvin (see address in practical information). Please note, only green and bulky waste – furniture, household appliances, printers, screens…) will be accepted! Other waste – notably metals, plaster and rubble – and all household hazardous waste – batteries, oils, ink cartridges, tires, gas cylinders, fire extinguishers, asbestos, paint and other chemical products –, will be refused by agents.  Users will be invited to drop them off at the usual recycling centers (Ancienne Motte, Saint-Césaire and Lauzières).
