From July 19 to August 30, the Diagonal cinema is screening must-see films in rebroadcast, for its cool summer. On the program: cabbage soup, Batman, Ghibli films, Lilo and Stitch and many others…hellip;

Every summer the emblematic independent cinema of Montpellier, the Diagonal, offers a "cool summer at the diago". The opportunity to spend the summer in the cool and see or rewatch the emblematic films of the seventh art. The first session begins this Friday July 19 with comedy, cabbage soup with Louis de Funès and Jean Carmet.

All genres are included: horror with The Exorcist (1974), science fiction in the ship of Gravity (2013), thriller through The Misanthrope (2023), fantasy alongside Gremlins (1984), or even animation thanks to Disney and Ghibli.

Fans of Studio Ghibli couldn't miss the latest, by Miyasaki, The Boy and the Heron, a release that made movie buffs' mouths water. ;nbsp;So to satisfy them, Diago offers a rebroadcast of the complete collection from Japanese studios. Every week, we delve into the phantasmagorical world of the founders, Miyazaki and Takahata. 

This Saturday, July 20, it's Porco Rosso, the aviator pig who opens the ball. Released in 1995, the film takes place in Italy, during the interwar period, in the midst of the rise of fascism. Marco Pagot, aviator victim of a metamorphosis into a pig, becomes a bounty hunter and fights both pirates and his love for Gina, the beautiful singer.
