The investigating commissioner responsible for carrying out a one-month public inquiry relating to the renewal of the State beach concession for the commune of Agde issued an opinion this Tuesday, May 21 favorable.
Two months behind the usual schedule, private beach concessionaires will finally have the green light to begin setting up their establishments. It was Sébastien Frey, 1st deputy of the city of Agde, who made the announcement this Tuesday evening during the municipal council which he led, in the absence of Gilles D'Ettore, incarcerated for two months now.
"With regard to the public inquiry relating to the renewal of the State beach concession towards the commune of Agde, the commissioner The investigator issued a favorable opinion today (Tuesday May 21). The Prefect also informed me by letter that he will sign the order which will allow the exploitation of the beaches on Monday May 27. Assembly which will therefore be authorized from Tuesday May 28."
A race against time is therefore underway for professionals, who are in a delicate situation, while the City has renewed the concessions for a period of ten years. Some are already paying staff who are not yet working, like managers for example, while other jobs have been deserted in the absence of a clear perspective. According to our information, some establishments even have great difficulty finding companies capable of carrying out their assembly, which takes between three weeks and a month most of the time. Suffice to say that to sip a rosé with your feet in the sand, you had to wait until mid-June at best.
