Car falls 10 meters after collision with two-wheeler: 30-year-old man dies in accident

Drama in the Alpes-Maritimes. Around 00:30 in the night from Friday to Saturday, a traffic accident took place on Boulevard de Bacon in Cap d'Antibes. A car fell 10 meters below, several victims were reported, including one dead, according to our colleagues at France Bleu.

The police testify

In the middle of the night, a car and a two-wheeler collided. "There were at least fifteen to twenty people on the scene around the cars, all panicked and shocked", declared a police officer present on site with France 3.

Arriving on the scene, emergency services and police noticed that a car was in the water, upside down on the roof. "A woman was on top of the car shouting to us that her boyfriend was in the vehicle underwater, while a man next to him was trying to break the driver's side window", details a police officer.

The victim was eventually extracted from the vehicle, but despite treatment and attempts at resuscitation, death was declared following a cardio-ventilatory arrest. Three other people were injured during the accident: the driver of the two-wheeler, who fell several meters, as well as two witnesses.

The firefighters have also launched a search to verify that there are no other victims.
