The "happiness boxes" underlines the French brand's commitment to solidarity and offers an opportunity to bring joy to children who need it most.

For the 18th consecutive year, Carrefour is renewing its solidarity operation the "happiness boxes" in all of its stores, with industrial partners. The funds collected will be donated to Secours populaire français in order to offer moments of escape and vacation days to children who do not have access to them.

Making holidays accessible to all

While one in three children does not go on vacation, Carrefour launched its solidarity operation in 2006 to support and accompany the Day of the Forgotten during the Secours populaire holidays. Thanks to the mobilization of all stakeholders, each year 50,000 children have the opportunity to benefit from a day at the sea, in the mountains or in a leisure park.

In order to participate, all customers who wish can make a gesture of solidarity in all of the group's stores. To do this, they must purchase products packaged in Carrefour-branded boxes or participating national brands including William Saurin, Géan Vert and Kinder.

In addition to the happiness boxes, the Carrefour group's commitment to Secours populaire takes place throughout the year through food donations from collects it in stores and warehouses, as well as material donations. In 2023, this represents the equivalent of 4.5 million meals, as well as 2.4 tonnes of non-food products.

For the second year, Carrefour stores will welcome Secours populaire volunteers to collect non-perishable food items (February 3 in convenience stores and February 17 in hypermarkets).

The "happiness boxes" will take place from January 16 to 28 for supermarkets, from January 30 to February 11 for proximity and from February 13 to 26 for hypermarkets.
