The situation in the north of the department requires the greatest vigilance. Access to the Mas de la Barque via the RD 362, via the Col du Pré de la Dame, is already closed. The route will take place via Villefort. The Mas de la BArque station is however open to the public as is the restaurant. Very heavy snowfall also recorded at the Bleymard Mont Lozère resort.

"Last night it was still sleet but the snow fell during the night. We measured 25 cm this morning and it's still snowing." It's 10 a.m. this Sunday morning, and from the station reception office From Mas de la Barque, Emilie sees the snow still accumulating. "And it's forecasting snow for the whole day" continues Laurent Pesenti, manager of the Mas de la Barque site.

" It's even stormy at the moment but we are open " specifies Jerémy, the head chef of the restaurant du mas de la barque who notes " nearly 50 cm of snow" in front of his door.

However, the services of the Gard and Lozère prefectures warn that conditions remain very difficult with strong winds. Access via the Villefort road requires the greatest caution at this time even if the snow removal vehicles have passed through for the first time.

Higher still, in Lozère, on the site of the Bleymard Mont Lozère ski resort, the situation is also harsh. "It's snowing a lot at the moment, the wind is picking up and access is bad, confirms Chrsitophe Aldovendri, site director. I advise people to be very careful. Our slopes will be perfectly groomed and accessible from tomorrow."

The Gard departmental council informs that traffic conditions above 700 meters altitude are delicate. More precisely, for the Mont Aigoual, Camprieu and Col de l'Espérou sectors, special equipment is mandatory.
