Charcot's disease represented in the Millau 100km peloton

Un nouveau défi sportif pour la team “Arnaud de Millau” midi libre – maxime cohen

David Fontaine et Jean-Michel Pasquier seront au départ des 100 km de Millau pour faire connaître un peu plus la maladie de Charcot.

David Fontaine from Millau is no stranger to sporting challenges. On Saturday, this well-known firefighter will be at the start of the 100 km of Millau for the “Arnaud de Millau” team. This team was set up by Arnaud Trémolet a little over a year ago. Affected by Charcot's disease, the Millavois has made his ordeal public and is doing everything he can to raise funds for Arlsa (Association for Research into ALS, the other name for Charcot's disease, Editor's note). Since then, he has multiplied initiatives, speeches and sporting challenges, helped by his loved ones, to raise awareness of this disease "still too little known", according to him.

Two associations: same fight

Jean-Michel Pasquier will have a different team color but the fight will be the same. It will sport the colors of the "Invincibles". "The two associations have a single goal: to advance research by raising awareness of the disease and by collecting funds, insists Arnaud Trémolet. I met these two committed people since I decided to do everything possible to raise awareness of this disease, by communicating in the press and initiating communication and collection actions." Two online kitty campaigns have therefore been launched: the first for Arnaud de Millau and the second for the Invincibles.

Other causes represented

They won't be the only ones at the start of the race to raise funds for an association. Justine Roux will wear the colors of an association from Annecy, which works against leukemia. This will be her first participation in the Doyenne. Louise Villemagne and Noémie Solier will have the fluorescent orange tunics of the Lucio association and will be, as usual, on roller skates! They will leave one minute before the classic start and will try to arrive before the first at the end of this 100 km. The race will start at 10 a.m. on Avenue Jean-Jaurès.
