The Circo Classico takes place at Odysseum, the artists at the Salines de Maguelone, the Mardi Graves festival in and around the metropolis, FX Demaison at the Corum, and the officers' ball at Tropisme: here are five events to experience from Friday 2 to Sunday, February 4. 

Circus, and a little more! 

It’s a show that toured for several years in Europe and has been traveling in France since last year: Rêves de Cirque. The Circo Classico has set up its marquee near the Odysseum shopping center in Montpellier. Until February 25, it offers almost every day, with three daily performances, a show varying the artistic subjects, the trademark of this production.
Don't expect a series of breathtaking numbers presented by a Ringmaster. Of course, there will be exploits but also a story. The artists immerse you in the dream of a boy who goes in search of his favorite toys. Along his journey, he will meet incredible people and the toys will come to life.
Through around ten paintings, with the help of 150 costumes, and a fable which should make children's eyes sparkle, the thirty artists (clowns , jugglers, acrobats, trapeze artists and aerialists) will do everything to accompany the hero's dream.
Mixing circus acts, dancing, singing, dancing and theater with a hint of « Commedia dell’arte », the Circo Classico wishes to offer an enchanted interlude for two hours.

Mardi Graves Festival

The Mardi Grave Festival gives a nod to the 2024 Olympics

Top start of the festival « Tuesday serious » whose objective is to highlight serious instruments in the metropolis and elsewhere. We hide the violins and flutes to bring out the double basses, the tuba or even the bass guitar. It starts this Friday at the Gazette Café at 8:15 p.m. with a free concert by the group How Jazzy Tho. A trio of piano, drums and double bass with jazz sounds. Saturday, head to the Church of Saints François (Place Carnot) at 8 p.m. for a concert called « moment of gravity » which brings together baritones with a double bass and a pianoforte around the works of Schubert, Mozart, Bottesini. Sunday, it happens at 6:30 p.m., at the Espace des Dominicains in Clermont-l’Hérault for a film concert of Fiddlestick by Harry Langdon (1927).

Ephemeral gallery

12th edition this weekend of the Ephemeral Gallery which summons art into a natural space: the Maguelone Salt Flats. After a period of residency, the thirteen artists took possession of a former salt worker's house transformed into an art gallery. Illustration, painting or photography, the techniques are varied: from the alphabets of No Luck, through the crazy illustrations of Möke, the retro universe of Sixo Santos, the female figures of Fahrenheit, the photographs of Sarah Munos and Nadim Zeraïa or the frescoes of Margot Merandon and Ti'Lab.
Throughout the weekend, the public can participate in workshops and take a guided tour of the Salines by the bird protection league. Departure takes place at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. from the location of the Ephemeral Gallery.

Di(x)Wine(s)

The fourth show by François-Xavier Demaison is presented through ten bottles of wine opened during his life. From grandfather's piquette to the grand cru served to celebrate the baccalaureate, these wines give the comedian and actor the opportunity to tell his story, to travel back in time. There is his childhood, his time in New York while the twin towers collapsed, his choice to make a living from the stage, and then, his installation in Catalonia where FX Demaison develops… hellip; some wine. A spectacle to be experienced with delight rather than deadpan.

The anniversary of Tropisme

The officers’ ball ends Tropisme’s five-day anniversary

Tropisme blows out its five candles this week. There are still opportunities to celebrate. This Friday, it's equipped with rollerblades for the « DISCOPAT IN.E » at 18 o'clock. A meeting to fill up on disco and funky music. Saturday, My life is a weekend invites Klingande, producer of melodic house gripping a saxophone. Finally, remembering that the third place is located on the grounds of a former barracks, the "five years of Tropisme" end with an officers' ball at 4 p.m. with an orchestra offering dancing to the tunes of waltzes, paso doble or even cha cha cha.
