In place of the former Gédimat establishments, in the "Petit Casino" district, in Béziers, the luxury residence Égérie will be erected, then, subsequently, the headquarters of the Béziers promoter Angelotti. The foundation stone ceremony took place this Wednesday, June 5.

"Égérie" is a large-scale real estate project initiated in 2014 by the developer Premalis, from Pérols, which, associated with Angelotti, will see the light of day twelve years later. This beautiful lady with refined features, contemporary and elegant, dressed all in white, of six buildings for 164 free housing units will welcome, at the end of 2026, visitors at the entrance to the town, on the Boujan side, more precisely in place of the large plot of land occupied by Gédimat.

This Wednesday, June 5, the ceremony of laying the first stone was organized on the site, in the presence, among others, of President Louis-Pierre Angelotti, his son and general manager Roch Angelotti, Sébastien Dura, for Premalis, and Mayor Robert Ménard. Many employees, prescribers and clients of the Béziers real estate development and land development group present in Occitanie and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, responded to the invitation .

In the time of Gédimat

Among the guests from Béziers, the satisfaction of seeing such a real estate project come to fruition was all the greater as Égérie came to take place on a site which no longer had good press for several years. Since the departure of the Gédimat establishments.

Closed but easy to force, the site was regularly visited, the disused buildings sometimes squatted, tagged… And, in November 2017, they went up in smoke. This spectacle of a completely burned carcass greeted for a long time the numerous motorists who entered and left Béziers. The City had even initiated a procedure for manifest abandonment on the plots of the building.

It was only in 2021 that the site of more than 12,000 m2 became a large bare plot of land, ready to accommodate a new project. Thus, Angelotti purchased land to carry out the Égérie project, in partnership with Premalis. "We will have acquired, in July, the whole of Gedimat", explains Roch Angelotti.

Concerning the choice of neighborhood, he continues: “The location is ideal, at the entrance to the city, 10 minutes from the center, with a city and a territory that have become attractive. The activity in the greater Béziers area in terms of production and marketing is perhaps less complicated than elsewhere. Not to mention an operation sized to satisfy local demand”. And to support his point, the general manager adds: “Many Béziers residents have approached us for Égérie, interested in the location and standing of the residence, either for a main home or for a local rental investment. It is the return of the investment of the people of Béziers in Béziers."

The production will be done in two phases. The first, which will begin around June 15, is devoted to the Égérie residence. With, among other features, simple and energy-efficient housing, 12 rooftop villas and their various terraces, underground and surface parking for a total of 256 spaces, photovoltaic panels on the roof of the buildings, shade houses. photovoltaic systems on outdoor parking lots… And, in the center, a garden of Mediterranean species which will form an island of freshness.

The siege in a second phase

Secondly, the land located to the south of the plot, along Avenue Rhin-et-Danube, will accommodate the future headquarters of the real estate group, currently located in the Ginieisse activity zone, in Béziers. The building permit will be filed in 2025. "We made this choice because our current premises, built 20 years ago, have become outdated and small. We even had to move our financial department to the Forum, on the Domitian Way, specified Louis-Pierre Angelotti. Furthermore, as Égérie is a very important construction, it we needed a living base to accommodate the cranes and construction equipment. Then, once the work is completed, the land has been emptied, the building housing the headquarters can be constructed. It will bring together all our services."

Robert Ménard, all smiles, welcomed this large-scale project for the city. "Bravo for your perseverance, your audacity. This is rare today." "We do not attract middle-class people if we do not offer them housing", added the first magistrate of Béziers , referring to the planned arrival of the company Genvia (which is developing cutting-edge technology in Béziers on the emerging decarbonized hydrogen market) and sub- contractors in the neighboring area of ​​Mazeran.
