Taylor Swift's four concerts in Paris for her Eras Tour attracted 180,000 spectators to La Défense Aréna. Dozens of fans explained on social networks that they had tested positive for Covid-19.

On TikTok, dozens of Internet users claim to have fallen ill after attending one of the four concerts given by Taylor Swift in Paris between May 9 and 12, 2024 , indicates Nice Matin. "If you were at the Taylor Swift concert, take a Covid test",can be heard in many videos shared on the social network.

The virus is still circulating in France

Cough, fever, severe fatigue, loss of taste… symptoms which pushed most to take a Covid test which turned out to be positive in dozens or even hundreds of cases. Indeed, each concert brought together nearly 45,000 people in a closed place, singing and shouting for several hours.

"We have known from the beginning that these large gatherings such as concerts are likely to increase the transmission of the virus& quot;, underlines Serge Smadja, the secretary general of SOS Médecins on BFMTV.

According to the latest report from Public Health France for the week of May 6 to 12, visits to emergency rooms due to Covid-19 are clearly increasing: an increase more than 20% among those under 15, and more than 28% among those 15 and over. The agency therefore reminds that the virus is still circulating in France. However, it is difficult to say that a new wave of contaminations is linked to the American star's concerts.

15 air handling units

Le Parisien reports that on its website, Paris La Défense Arena states have set up "a healthy space for the duration of the event. The room was designed to manage air treatment, guaranteeing spectators a welcome in optimal health, safety and comfort conditions".

It is notably equipped with 15 air treatment units which make it possible to renew the atmosphere of the entire room in two hours, according to a manager interviewed by the daily.

Despite this mishap, the singer's fans have no regrets: "I was very surprised (to have been contaminated , Editor's note) but it's been 15 years since she last came to France, it's well worth a Covid", laughs a fan, at microphone of BFMTV.
