In Clermont, the craft brewery, La Pinte Héraultaise, is diversifying its offering and launching into the production of barrels. A complementary market to that of bottled sales.

It's been exactly two years since the kick-off time rang for the Pinte Héraultaise, in the middle of the Six Nations Tournament . Two years already and some "500 hectos"of beers produced later, the Clermont craft brewery is launching into new territory: that of barrel production.

The Coeur d'Héraultais play the game

A step which,  certainly, comes in a "complicated situation for craft breweries, but, in this context,  I'still managed to do well&quot ;, measures Franck Orts, boss of the company based at Tanes Basses, in Clermont. Especially since, "the people of the Heart of Hérault, the Clermontais really played the game" and contributed to the success of the new brand. "I think they find themselves in the identity that the Pinte Héraultaise conveys. And the quality of the product quickly won over, which is why it was necessary to diversify the offer", justifies the second line of the RCO, the country's rugby club.

A fleet of 150 barrels

So after a phase of testing as a warm-up, last summer, with recyclable plastic barrels, the time had come to put the face in the ruck, namely, investing in the manufacture of stainless steel barrels stamped Pinte Héraultaise and in a group of taps. "Plastic drums are recyclable but not reusable, in terms of impact, that didn't suit me at all. So I had my barrels manufactured by Maison neuf, (in Manche-Editor's note),   I'm starting with a fleet of 150 30-liter barrels".

La Pinte always offers its recipes in bottles. The pressure market is complementary to the first segment. "The objective here is really to be able to mainly respond, initially, to events, weddings, parties, certain party committees or sports clubs…", explains Franck Orts. With our sights set on the top of the table and the ambition to also offer pressure made in Clermont in the HCR, Hotel-cafe-restaurant sector. Above all, "I make it a point of honor to offer craft beer, on tap, with professional quality." A quality to consume in moderation.

Blonde, amber, IPA or White, four types of beers are offered on tap. Price around a hundred euros to which must be added that of the rental of the printers. "It costs around 1€ half for the consumer,” calculates Franck Orts. Information: 06 66 47 93 79 or by email on rabbinteheraultaise@gmail.com I subscribe to read more
