Death of Alain Delon: “I decided to distribute my money to all French people”, what is this scam that uses the actor's image ?

Less than 10 days after Alain Delon's death, the actor's image is being used by scammers to deceive Internet users via fake ads.

Deceased for only a few days, Alain Delon is already seeing his image being wrongly used. Scammers have managed to scam vulnerable fans via fake ads. Broadcast on Facebook, these ads promote a casino application, indicates BFMTV.

In a video modified by Artificial Intelligence, Alain Delon speaks to discuss this application. “If you see this video, it's because I'm already dead”, begins the actor who promises 100,000 euros to those who do not win at this online casino. The fake movie star then announces that he wants to "redistribute part of his money to all French people".

"The latest affair of Alain Delon"

Internet users clicking on this advertisement are then redirected to a fake site imitating the Google Play Store. Once on this site, the scammed person is invited to download a fake application, named "Casino Delon". Once the application is downloaded, the victim will see their personal data and bank details hacked.

Also according to BFMTV, this scam is not the only one to use Alain Delon's image to deceive users. Still on Facebook, an advertisement viewed nearly 5,000 times, uses the France 24 channel's look. In this video, the presenter, also created by AI, talks about “Alain Delon's latest affair”. Here again, 10,000 euros are offered to those who register at a casino.
