Death of Shamseddine, 15 years old, severely beaten in Viry-Châtillon: custody of 5 suspects extended

Shamseddine, the 15-year-old teenager who was in life and death after his violent attack, died this Friday, April 5, 2024 in the early afternoon. The custody of five people suspected of having beaten him was extended this Saturday, announced the Evry prosecutor's office.

The police custody of the five people arrested as part of the investigation into the death of a teenager beaten up on Thursday in Viry-Châtillon (Essonne) was extended on Saturday by twenty-four hours, announced the Evry parquet floor.

"The five police custody periods have been extended", indicated prosecutor Grégoire Dulin in a press release, the following day of the arrest of four minors, three 17 year olds and one 15 year old and an adult aged 20.

The young boy was walking home when he was attacked by a group of young people wearing balaclavas, according to witnesses. Evacuated at the end of the afternoon to the Necker hospital in Paris, his vital prognosis was in jeopardy. According to the press release sent by the prosecution, the schoolboy had undergone emergency surgery during the night but "died Friday early in the afternoon ".
