Delphine Jubillar case: her ex-spouse’s appeal dismissed, investigations will resume

The criminal chamber of the Court of Cassation rejected the appeal of Cédric Jubillar's lawyers and the investigations concerning the additional information will be able to begin.

New twist in the case of the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar. The appeal filed on February 13 by the ex-spouse's lawyers was rejected, according to an order issued on March 25, including Le Parisien took notice. As part of the additional information requested by the courts, investigations will be able to begin.

Resumption of the investigation

The president of the criminal chamber of the Court of Cassation "declares that there is no reason to admit it, in ;rsquo;state, the appeal of Mr. Cédric Jubillar" and "orders that the procedure will be continued in accordance with the law before the court seized".

More concretely, the Toulouse Court of Appeal had requested additional information on February 8, which was suspended a few days later after an appeal from Cédric Jubillar's defense. But the Court of Cassation rejects it and orders the immediate resumption of the investigation, which is being carried out under the direction of investigating judges Audrey Assemat and Coralyne Chartier and under the referral of the gendarmes of the section of Toulouse research, details the Parisien.

One of the last phases of this affair has been at a standstill for almost two months now, while the mystery still hangs over the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar.

Why additional information?

On February 8, the investigating chamber of the Toulouse Court of Appeal decided to reopen the investigation closed two months earlier by the judges in charge of the case, providing additional information, upon request from the prosecution.

This request followed suspicions raised by two new elements: a recorded telephone exchange between an inmate and his mother, as well as the testimony of a local man , who claimed that an excavator had disappeared from a construction site near the Jubillars' home the evening the nurse vanished. In particular, it allowed new witnesses to be heard.
