Plus de sept mois après la disparition du petit Emile au Vernet, dans les Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence, les investigations se poursuivent. Un proche de la famille a été entendu ce mardi 13 février 2024.

Where did little Emile go ? The mystery still hovers around the disappearance of the child, who disappeared on July 8 in Vernet, in the Alpes-de-Hautes -Provence. Investigations by the Research Section continue. This Tuesday, February 13, investigators heard from a relative of the family, reports BFMTV.

"I clearly understood that what they were interested in"

A secondary resident of the village where the little boy vanished was interviewed on the morning of Tuesday by investigators. They went to his home, located in the PACA region, for more than two hours.

"These are experienced gendarmes from Marseille who came", explained the man in question with our colleagues at BFM DICI.

But why were the agents of the Marseille Research Section specifically interested in him ? "I clearly understood that what interested them , it was my friendship with this family", he said. The man heard is a tourist who regularly goes to Vernet and has owned a house for several decades in this village, specifies the news channel.

"The research is deep and it casts a wide net"

It was therefore the links with Emile's grandparents that interested the investigators. But also the personality of one of the people in the couple, namely that of the grandfather, who seemed authoritarian and the strict education that he could have with regard to the youngest in the family.

But this secondary resident quickly put an end to the rumors and speculation that would target the grandfather. "Absolutely no violence or of inappropriate words", said the man.

"They asked me questions about life in the village when Monsieur Mollet was still mayor, that's saying something. They want to get a clear idea of the old families who have always lived there. The research is deep and it casts a wide net", he explained.

For the moment, the gendarmes are continuing their investigations, while the mystery surrounding this disappearance remains unsolved.
