Disturbing disappearance of Basile, student in Montpellier: lost phone, girls trying to help him… an investigation has been opened

The 21-year-old young man disappeared after going to a concert hall in Bordeaux this Friday, January 12. He hasn't given any sign of life since.

A young 21-year-old student from Montpellier disappeared during the night of Friday January 12 to Saturday January 13. Basile Affret went to Bordeaux to spend the evening with friends in a concert hall, the Iboat.

Originally from Pont-l’Abbé in Brittany and studying in Montpellier, the young man went to Bordeaux to attend a special evening scheduled at the Iboat, a concert hall with a DJ that he particularly liked according to one of his friends.

After the evening, the student had to sleep at his friend Simon's house. The latter, very worried by his absence, reported his disappearance, as reported by BFM. 

The last time Basile was seen by his group of friends, he was in front of the structure's bar and was going to the toilet. According to these people, it was around 4 a.m. 

Friend's concern

As the friend who was staying with him had not spent the evening with him, he was working that evening, he was not necessarily worried. But around 4 p.m. with no news from him, he began to find it strange. With friends, he calls police stations and hospitals before launching an appeal on social networks.

Phone found at scene

His friends go to the Iboat to try to find his trace. He discovers that Basile's phone is there. Inside there is no worrying message, no photo that could help trace him. 

His friend Simon even explains that the last photos taken during the evening show him happy and are time stamped around 3 a.m., as reported by France 3.

On the networks, he was seen with two girls around 6:30 a.m.

According to information collected via the networks, the young man was seen a little further away with two girls who were apparently trying to help him around 6:30 a.m. morning.

An investigation into "disturbing disappearance" was opened after his disappearance was reported this Sunday morning, January 14.

When he disappeared, he was dressed in a blue and green striped jacket and he was wearing a blue and red hat, like Spiderman. He is 1.78 m tall and thin. 

He is currently a student  in a master's degree specializing in teaching, education and training professions to pass the school teachers' competition.
