The roussataïo, a tradition not to be missed in Carnon this Wednesday, August 14.

Do you know the roussataïo ? This Camargue tradition consists of releasing mares, with their foals of the year, into the streets of a village. In Provençal, the word “rosso” means mare. And the “roussataïo&rdquo its transhumance, supervised by guardians.

Traditional outfits and gardian mass

This show, always very impressive, is to be discovered this Wednesday, August 14, in the seaside resort of Carnon. For the occasion, the guardians will be in traditional outfit and the procession will end with a gardian mass with blessing of the horses. Departure of the roussataïo at 6:30 p.m. from the Centre car park.
