A video posted on Tiktok has raised questions and fueled a rumor according to which Uber Eats charges its delivery services “at the customer's expense”. The company contacted by BFMTV responds.

In a video published on TikTok on February 10, influencer Miel Abt highlighted the difference in the cost of delivery by Uber Eats of two identical orders placed at McDonald's. s.

In this video, seen nearly 800,000 times on the social network, the influencer with 1.4 million subscribers talks about a "scam" from Uber Eats, and suggests that the company charges “at the customer's expense”.

Uber Eats formally denies

Contacted by BFMTV, the home delivery company formally denied these practices and affirms that if the delivery costs vary based on the estimated time and distance to make the delivery, "restaurant prices are similar from one customer to another and their profile has no impact on pricing".

Uber Eats reminds our colleagues that the prices charged by the same restaurant can vary, but at the initiative of the latter. For example with the establishment of prices which change according to the time of order or according to the location of restaurants.

The influencer's father finally admitted to having made a mistake. He specifies that he clicked on a sponsored McDonald's page when opening Uber Eats, which turned out to be linked to a restaurant other than the one he usually frequents, and with which he compares the price.
