Double murder in Pont-Saint-Esprit: several arrests this Tuesday, thirteen people placed in police custody

Dans le cadre d'une information judiciaire ouverte pour investiguer sur le double meurtre commis dans la nuit de 28 au 29 octobre 2023 à Pont-Saint-Esprit, les enquêteurs de la section de recherches de Nîmes, sous la direction du juge d'instrcution, ont procédé ce mardi 30 avril à plusieurs interpellations.

240 gendarmerie soldiers were mobilized, including various investigation and intervention services, in particular gendarmes from the gendarmerie group of Gard, Vaucluse, Bouches-du -Rhône, Rhône, the GIGN intervention force, two GIGN branches, two specialized gendarmerie protection platoons, as well as four dog teams.

Thirteen people were placed in police custody and will have to explain the offenses of murder by an organized gang, attempted murder by an organized gang, port, transport, possession of Category A and B weapons, organized gang damage to property by means dangerous to people as well as participation in a criminal association with a view to committing a crime.

These police custody can last four days for offenses linked to organized crime.

The investigating magistrate and the deputy prosecutor "organized crime"< /em> were present on the scene.
