In addition, the accused was in an irregular situation on French territory. He was taken to the administrative detention center with a view to his expulsion.

This Friday, June 7, at around 11:15 p.m., a crew of the national police patrolling in the Montpellier Écusson surprised a motorcyclist riding a 125 cc on rue de l'Aiguillerie, an area known to be pedestrianized.

During the traffic stop, the offender first gave a false identity, saying he was a 34-year-old Moroccan. Obviously drunk, he was unable to produce any identification, much less his driver's license.

False identity

And for good reason, he had been in an irregular situation on the national territory for months and was even already subject to an obligation to leave the country. Placed in police custody, he admitted the facts.

The investigations also established that he was in fact Algerian and that he was 32 years old. His two-wheeler was finally impounded. As for him, he was taken to the administrative detention center in Sète with a view to his expulsion.
