Drunk, they attack a Montpellier student in the middle of the night and steal 20 euros from her under threat of a tear gas bomb

The attack took place on the night of Friday 16 to Saturday 17 around 1:30 a.m. in the Hôpitaux-Facultés district of Montpellier.

Two young men from Le Vigan, one a 17-year-old minor and the other two years older, from the Gard region, were arrested by the police on Avenue du Doyen-Gaston-Giraud in Montpellier, on the night of Friday 16 to Saturday 17 around 1:30 a.m.

Strongly drunk (0.86 g of alcohol in the blood for the first and 1.4 for the second), the two had just attacked a young student whom they had extorted of 20 euros under threat of a tear gas canister, before running away.

But the victim immediately alerted “17” and, thanks to their very precise description, the agents of the urban supervision center were able to locate them and launch the arrest device.

The two were placed in police custody. The adult explained that he remembered nothing or almost nothing. He was brought before the Montpellier public prosecutor's office on Monday morning. As for the minor, he confessed to having committed the offence because that he needed money. He too was brought before the juvenile judge in Nîmes.

As for the victim, his 20& ;nbsp;euros were returned to him.
