Even Antoine Griezmann and Léon Marchand gave: the ZEvent video game charity marathon exceeded €4 million in donations

Since Friday evening, around thirty streamers gathered around Montpellier native Adrien Nougaret, aka Zerator, have been multiplying events on Twitch to call for donations in favor of five associations fighting against precariousness. Objective: to exceed the sum of 10 M€ by Sunday evening.

“It's the start of the final rush!” Zerator, aka Adrien Nougaret, wants to increase the prize pool even more. However, this Sunday at 4:30 p.m., ZEvent, the video game charity marathon that he has organized every year in Montpellier since 2016, has already reached the sum of 4 million euros. A milestone worthily celebrated by the thirty streamers participating in this 2024 edition.

Several personalities have contributed to raising donations for five associations fighting against poverty (Secours Populaire, les Bureaux du Cœur, Solidarité Paysans, Chapitre 2 and Cop 1). Starting with footballer Antoine Griezmann, who between two French team matches, took a break from following the Paralympic Games to offer ZEvent the sum of €4,500, in two installments.

A bidding war for a good cause

“Grizou” quickly brought other nice gestures in its wake. YouTuber Michou, influenced by streamer Domingo, then donated… €4,501, as if to do better than the footballer. But he was very quickly beaten by… swimmer Léon Marchand, gold medalist for generosity with the sum of €4,502. The day before, the singer BigFlo had brought 1000 €.

This bidding war is obviously benevolent and has the sole purpose of encouraging Internet users to increase the kitty. The goal remains to beat the record set in 2022 with a little over 10 M€ in donations.
