On the occasion of this big crossover weekend between the three zones A, B and C, Bison Futé anticipates difficult traffic from this Friday, February 23 and sometimes very difficult this Saturday, February 24 in the direction of departures.

Road traffic looks set to be particularly difficult throughout France this weekend. Indeed, the weekend of February 23 to 25 marks the meeting point of all the school holiday zones: while the holidays end for zone C (academies of Paris, Versailles, Créteil, Toulouse and Montpellier ), they begin for the academies in zone B (Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg) and extend from  #39;one week for zone A (Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrad, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers).

This weekend also marks the start of Belgium's Carnival holidays and the end for the northern and central areas of the Netherlands.

Intense traffic difficulties Saturday

The first disturbances are expected from this Friday February 23 in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté and Grand-Est regions, but it&#39 It is Saturday that particularly intense traffic difficulties are expected.

The departures of vacationers towards the mountains, associated with "localized disturbances" announced by the SNCF on the occasion of this weekend of switchers' strike, complicate things and should increase road traffic. Bison futé predicts particularly difficult traffic on the roads serving winter sports resorts in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Saturday February 24, traffic will be very dense in the direction of departures, the day is classified orange nationally and red in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The routes towards the mountain ranges will be very congested throughout the day, particularly the A40 and A43 motorways. In Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy on the A6 motorway from early in the morning.

In the direction of returns, in Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy on the A6 motorway, between early afternoon and mid-evening. The increase in traffic generally observed during this period in Île-de-France and the heavy traffic on the A6 motorway could lead to additional traffic difficulties than those usual on a Saturday afternoon.
