As is traditional, the evening of the Mundillo du BTP at the Imperator was full with, for this second Feria of the year, a charity auction.
This is a must to start the Feria. The entire Mundillo du BTP but not only, was gathered this Thursday, September 12 in the evening, in the courtyard of the Imperator, to open this new edition of the Vendanges. The association, chaired by Eric Rodier, was once again full and, what's more, for a double good cause. Support for young novilleros, of course, and a charity auction.
1 110 € raised
“We are helping, for the last year, Lalo de Maria who will take his alternative this Friday evening”, explains Eric Rodier, whose association offered the future matador, absent from the evening because of his upcoming fight, his light suit: “This represents a support of 7,000 euros, not forgetting the cheque for 3,000 euros for Nino Julian who, we hope, will take his alternative next year in Nîmes."
Partners of the evening, the Costières de Nîmes have for their part, auctioned a very special vintage, since it comes from the vines planted seven years ago, in the Jardins de la Fontaine: "It was a wish that we had at the time, with Jean-Paul Fournier, that Nîmes, like Montmartre, have its vines", remembers Bernard Angelras, former president of the appellation. 100 Syrah vines and 100 Mourvèdre vines including the "very good 2023 vintage", according to the president of Costières Cyril Marès, yielded some 54 bottles and 4 magnums. On this first evening of the Feria, two lots of 3 magnums and 12 bottles were auctioned, for a total of 1 100 euro;, collected for the benefit of the association Le pain partagé, founded in Nîmes in 1938 and which helps the most vulnerable.
