Chaque année, la médaille de l’Enfance et des familles récompense l’engagement et le dévouement des mères de familles nombreuses.
Smiles and thanks were exchanged on the occasion of the presentation of the Childhood and Family Medal this Wednesday, October 9 at Nîmes City Hall. An event that, each year, honors parents who have raised large families with love and dedication.
“The Childhood Medal is not just a simple title”
Under the benevolent gaze of Marie-Chantal Barbusse, deputy delegate for Social Action and representing the mayor Jean-Paul Fournier, no fewer than five Nîmes mothers have been awarded this distinction. “The Children's Medal is not just a simple title, she declared. It symbolizes the effort and commitment of these families, true pillars of our society, who take on the challenges of parenthood every day. You are the first educators, the first guides, and for that, we congratulate you."

Among the evening's recipients, we find Jacqueline Granier, who got married in 1953 and whose family history is marked by unwavering commitment. She is one of the five mothers present this evening, alongside Viviane Warnon, Pauline Relou de la Grandière, Dominique Verny and Marie-Thérèse Llin.
Committed parents
Each of the winners received a medal, accompanied by a diploma, a floral arrangement, as well as a symbolic bonus of 100 euros. A small touch of recognition, but above all a great emotion shared between the families present. Year after year, the Children and Families Medal reminds us that behind every thriving society, there are first and foremost committed and devoted parents.
