Floookie, the new neighborhood business combined with women

To celebrate March 8, International Women's Rights Day, the journey of Floriane Poli, creator of the company Floookie at 77, rue du Faubourg-Boutonnet, is worth looking into.

"At the same time, I was afraid. Fear of failing, fear of starting out alone"

Because, even if over the last ten years, female entrepreneurship has experienced strong development, equality between women and men has not yet been achieved (read box). "I benefited from the France active-Airdie Women's Equality guarantee for a professional loan which allowed me to obtain the confidence of the bank". She continues: "I also had the support of the CCI’s Créa’boost training, it helped me a lot. I really wanted to go there! At the same time, I was afraid. Fear of failing, fear of starting out alone, fear of financial risk".

The usefulness of assistance provided to women no longer needs to be demonstrated. They allow them to overcome all obstacles, whether technical or psychological. Floriane has built her journey well. "I wanted something of my own that resembles me, that combines everything I have done and seen."

After leaving the bachelor's degree, "I searched for myself for a few years, needed to have experiences, meet people world". She went to work in Geneva then, to improve her English, spent five months in Australia where she worked in a salad bar. This is where she discovered the personalization of dishes. She spent three more months in Asia then returned to study for a master's degree.

But her business project began to take hold of her. "With the idea of ​​catering in mind, I go to check my motivation at Burger and Ratatouille. I loved. They taught me everything, how to hold a tray, manage…".

"The customers are super friendly , many come back"

And finally, at the end of 2023, she creates Floookie, "a place to live where you come and enjoy homemade cookies, sweet or savory with salad or soup and the drink of your choice. I personalize them. Everyone chooses what they want: chocolate, salted butter caramel, crunchy with all the dried fruits… There are more than thirty possibilities".

The decor calls for conviviality and relaxation, with lounge areas, swing chairs in a chic and vintage setting. After two months of practice, Floriane got excited and prepared animation projects.

"The clientele is super nice, many come back. The people who pass by are neighbors, friends, it’s cool, and nice. A real cocoon."
