Football: no repechage, Bordeaux confirmed in National 2, Alès in National 3, towards a National with 17 clubs ?

The OAC was waiting and hoping. This Monday, August 12th, the CNOSF (French National Olympic and Sports Committee) dashed a good part of the OAC club's hopes, by declaring its repechage request in National 2 inadmissible. Just like those of Goal FC (Ouest Lyon) in National and Colmar.

The deadline is July 17

The three teams had initiated appeals following the latest sanctions imposed on Bordeaux (administrative demotion to N2, decision confirmed on appeal this Monday) and Niort (exclusion from the national championships), at the very beginning of August. Sanctions too late for repechage, according to the CNOSF. The advisory body refers to the regulations of the FFF (French Football Federation), in particular the deadline of July 17, after which repechages are no longer authorized.

No acquired rights

For the three clubs, this means that there is no vested right to be drafted for the 2024-2025 season. The Olympic Committee therefore considers that the arguments presented by the clubs are not likely to call into question the contested decisions. Which means that the National, which begins this Friday August 16, could be played with 17 clubs (with one exempt each day) and one of the National 2 pools with 15 teams (one exempt each weekend) .
