Football: on Thau, two tickets for a final, one card for a square

Les U17 de l’Asfac veulent croire en leurs chances.

Sète et Frontignan, en U15, U17 et U20, disputent un match décisif en Coupes de l’Hérault et de l’Occitanie ce week-end des 20 et 21 avril.

Two youth teams from the Thau basin, Sète and Frontignanaise, will be involved in a semi-final of the Hérault Cup in the U15 and U17 categories, this weekend. Both will move to Jacou where the club is having an exceptional year in terms of results, among young people and seniors.

For life

The U15 Sétois of Franck Casalis have a good card to play even if the Jacoumards are ahead in the championship. The young "Green and White" have already beaten them but, since then, the "Yellow and Blue" have taken first place in the group.

Concerning their seniors from Asfac in U17, Jennifer Bro, their coach, warned: « A final is a memory for life ». If the results have not been reassuring since the start of the second phase, due to numerous injuries, the Muscatiers, like the young Sétois, also know that in a decisive match anything is possible.

In Occitanie

Finally, a third team will be involved in a direct qualification match, we will also play the quarter-finals of the Occitanie Cup in the U20 category. The Frontignanais from Asfac will be there near Vergèze. The two teams play in a different group in the Regional League. Like Jacou, the Gard club is experiencing a spectacular revival, its flagship team, resident of R3, is still in the race in the Coupe d'Occitanie and will play its ticket for a semi-final, against Mende on May 1st. In the spotlight, this trio represents a great way of restoring the nobility of the Thau basin.
