Football: racist chants from Argentine players targeting the Blues, the French Football Federation will refer the matter to Fifa

La Fédération française de football va saisir la Fifa à la suite d’une vidéo circulant sur les réseaux sociaux sur laquelle des joueurs argentins entonnent un chant raciste envers des joueurs de l’équipe de France, a appris mardi l’AFP d’une source proche de la FFF.

The FFF will write to the Argentine federation and contact Fifa, subject to other steps to come, said this source.

Since Monday evening, a video has been circulating on social networks where certain Argentine players, including midfielder Enzo Fernandez, chant racist words targeting the Blues.

In the video broadcast live by Enzo Fernandez on Instagram, filmed in the Argentina team bus, in the wake of the victory at the Copa America (1-0) , we see the players start this chant before cutting the video.

"They play for France but all come from Angola, it’s good they know how to run, they are trans people like that fucking Mbappé, his mother is Nigerian, his father is Cameroonian, but on the passport: French". These are the words sung by Argentinian supporters after the 2022 World Cup won by Argentina against France in the final (3-3 a.p., 4 tab to 2).

The FFF had already filed a complaint

This song sung by Argentine supporters against the players of the France team and Kylian Mbappé, whose mother is actually of Algerian origin, was broadcast live from Qatar on an Argentinian television channel.

"No, no. Censored", the journalist said, slightly embarrassed, in a video that quickly went viral on social networks.

At that time, the FFF had filed a complaint against racist comments on social networks, as well as SOS Racisme, said the source.

Argentina has maintained a strong rivalry with France since its elimination in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, in a match won by the Blues 4-3.
